Code To Check Your NIN With Phone (a simple guide)
Want a simple way to verify your NIN anytime, anywhere? Here's a simple guide on how to check your NIN.
NIN and BVN are important medium of identification in Nigeria.
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has published a how-to guide on how to verify the NIN using the phone via USSD code.
The importance of the national identification number NIN should not be underestimated because the federal government has also ordered the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) that the subsequent driver's license be processed using the NIN.
Checking your NIN on a mobile phone may not be completely free. Your network provider may charge you a token to help you retrieve your NIN without going through a NIMC.

How to verify your NIN over the phone using the USSD code
If you are registered with the National Identity Card system, you can verify your NIN by dialing the recommended USSD on the phone number associated with your NIN membership.
NIMC's USSD service allows you to easily retrieve or verify your NIN using your mobile phone.
You can verify your NIN on your phone by following the procedure below:
Access your phone dialer and dial *346 #
The quick response will display two options "answer with 1 for 'retrieve NIN' or 2 for ' Cancel '"
Follow the onscreen steps and provide the required entries to check your NIN
Make sure you have at least 20 Naira airtime on your mobile phone before checking your NIN with the USSD code.
We recommend writing or taking a screenshot when the NIN is displayed on the screen as it will not be displayed more than once unless it is necessary to verify the NIN with the same USSD code provided.
Currently, the USSD code can be used on MTN, Airtel, Glo, and 9mobile to verify your NIN using a mobile phone.
